Red Lights, Wrong Turns & Fancy Plates: ITP Goes Tough

Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) took legal action against 61,842 motorists in February as part of a special campaign to ensure traffic law enforcement and road safety.

According to an ITP spokesperson, action was taken against:

5,747 vehicles with fancy number plates

3,769 motorcyclists without helmets

14,163 motorists for illegal parking

2,340 for driving in the wrong direction

6,397 for red light violations

Additionally, fines were issued to:

2,955 individuals for not wearing seat belts

1,087 for using mobile phones while driving

854 for having black-tinted windows

25,617 for other traffic violations
