Peshawar/Bahawalpur: At least two people were killed, and four others sustained injuries in separate incidents caused by heavy rainfall in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and a road accident in Punjab.

According to an initial report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), one woman died, and three individuals, including a child and two women, were injured due to rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours.

A house in Khyber district suffered partial damage when the roof of one of its rooms collapsed. The incidents were reported in Khyber and Torghar districts, prompting the PDMA to direct local authorities to provide immediate relief and medical assistance to the affected families.

The authority also instructed district administrations to clear roads blocked due to rain and snowfall. The PDMA’s Emergency Operations Center remains fully operational, urging citizens to report emergencies by calling 1700.

Meanwhile, in Bahawalpur’s Hasilpur tehsil, a 17-year-old boy named Mohsin lost his life in a tragic road accident when a speeding trailer hit his motorcycle in Shahpur area. He sustained critical head injuries, leading to his instant death. Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the body for postmortem before handing it over to the family. Police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Authorities in both provinces have urged citizens to exercise caution amid adverse weather conditions and road hazards.
