Rang-e-Pakistan Festival Ends with Colorful Celebrations

Islamabad: The three-day Rang-e-Pakistan Festival, a vibrant celebration of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, successfully concluded at Lok Virsa on Monday.

Organized under the directives of the National Heritage and Culture Division, in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Pakistan Academy of Letters, Department of Archaeology and Museums, National Language Promotion Board, and Iqbal Academy, the festival brought together artists, craftsmen, musicians, and literary figures from across the country.

The festival attracted a large number of visitors, including families, students, art lovers, and foreign delegates, making it one of the most successful cultural gatherings in recent times. It served as a platform to promote inter-provincial harmony, foster appreciation for traditional arts, and recognize local talent.

A major highlight of the festival was the artisan craft exhibition, featuring over 30 skilled craftsmen from different regions of Pakistan. They showcased intricate handmade products, including traditional pottery, embroidery, woodwork, and calligraphy, drawing admiration from visitors.

The event played a crucial role in connecting artisans with cultural organizations and buyers, helping them sustain and expand their craft.

Adding to the immersive experience, famous storyteller Badar Khan mesmerized the crowd with tales of Lahore and Bazar-i-Husn, preserving the oral traditions that form a significant part of Pakistan’s cultural fabric.

The festival culminated in a spectacular closing concert at the Lok Virsa Mela Grounds, featuring energetic performances that left the audience spellbound. The PNCA dance troupe presented a diverse array of traditional dances, representing Pakistan’s cultural landscape.

Musical highlights included a soulful performance by Shahid Ali Khan, while the Manwa Sisters and Hajvery Qawwal Group enthralled audiences with their powerful renditions of Sufi and folk music.

The Rang-e-Pakistan Festival not only provided a dynamic cultural experience but also reinforced the importance of preserving and promoting Pakistan’s artistic and literary traditions.
