Islamabad: Like in other parts of the world, International Mother Language Day (Maan Boli ka Alami Din) will be observed on February 21 (today) with the theme “Silver Jubilee Celebration of International Mother Language Day.” Various events and seminars will be held to commemorate the occasion.
In this regard, the Indus Culture Forum (ICF) has scheduled a special event, the “Pakistan Mother Languages Literature Festival 2025,” from February 21 to 23 at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) auditorium.
The festival’s inaugural ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm at PNCA.
The event will feature keynote speeches by eminent scholars and writers, along with discussions on the significance of linguistic diversity.
ICF member Munawar Memon emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Pakistan’s rich linguistic heritage.
“The diversity of languages in Pakistan is something we all cherish and take pride in. We are passionate about speaking these languages and promoting them further. In this spirit, the Indus Cultural Forum organizes an annual literary festival celebrating the richness of our native languages,” he said.
International Mother Language Day serves as a reminder of the vital role that native languages play in shaping our identity, connecting us to our culture, and allowing us to express ourselves freely. Speaking our mother tongue fosters confidence and a deep sense of belonging.
