DC Issues Safety Advisory for Murree, Galyat Tourists

Islamabad: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Murree has issued an advisory for visitors planning to travel to Murree and Galyat, urging them to exercise caution due to ongoing snowfall and rain in the region.

The advisory aims to ensure tourist safety and minimize the risk of accidents and disruptions.

In a message to a private news channel, the DC highlighted the increased influx of visitors during nighttime snowfall and rain, advising them to stay updated on the latest weather conditions before planning their trips.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that vehicles are in good condition, with properly inflated tires, functioning brakes, and adequate lighting. Tourists were also advised to carry snow chains, which can be crucial in navigating heavy snowfall.

Additionally, the DC recommended keeping fuel tanks full, as fuel stations may be closed or inaccessible due to severe weather conditions. He urged travelers to pack essential items, including warm clothing, food, and water, to stay comfortable and prepared.

For emergencies, he suggested carrying basic gear to help navigate challenging terrain. He also emphasized safe driving practices, such as avoiding distractions, following traffic rules, parking responsibly, and driving slowly on slippery roads.

Authorities have advised tourists to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip to the scenic hill stations.
