Islamabad: The introduction of online cab services has revolutionized transportation in the federal capital, offering commuters a convenient and reliable alternative to traditional public transport.

For years, Islamabad residents struggled with inadequate public transportation, relying on overcrowded buses and taxis that often refused to use meters.

However, the advent of online cab services has allowed passengers to book rides effortlessly using their smartphones, eliminating the challenges associated with traditional taxis.

Saira Ahmed, a university student, shared her experience of switching to online cab services. “I was frustrated with taxi drivers who either refused to take me to my destination or overcharged me. Now, with online cab services, I can book a ride instantly and travel without any hassle,” she said.

She emphasized that these services have not only provided convenience but also enhanced road safety. “With GPS tracking and real-time monitoring, I feel much safer during my journeys,” she added.

Abdul Sammad, an online cab driver, highlighted how these services have created new economic opportunities for drivers. “I used to drive a traditional taxi and often went hours without a fare. But now, with online cab services, I get multiple rides daily, which has significantly improved my earnings,” he explained.

He further stated that initially, he was skeptical about switching to app-based rides but soon realized the benefits. “I now have more fares, flexible working hours, and a better livelihood to support my family,” he said.

With their reliability, affordability, and security features, online cab services have transformed transportation in Islamabad, providing a much-needed solution for commuters while boosting economic prospects for drivers.
