PlayStation Network Down, Gamers Frustrated

News Desk

Islamabad: Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) has experienced a significant outage, preventing thousands of gamers worldwide from accessing online services.

The disruption reportedly began around midnight on Friday in the UK, leaving users unable to log in, join multiplayer matches, or browse the PlayStation Store.

According to The Guardian, over 71,000 players have reported issues, with many expressing frustration over the interruption. The outage is particularly disruptive given the premium costs associated with PSN’s subscription services, which range from £13.49 per month to £119.99 annually.

The timing of the service failure has amplified the backlash, as weekends are prime gaming hours. Competitive players of FC 25 are missing their crucial “Weekend League” matches, while Call of Duty fans are unable to participate in a limited-time double XP event for Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

PlayStation users have taken to social media to vent their frustration, with many demanding compensation.

“Everyone deserves this month’s PS Plus for free. Paying for the network to go down on a weekend is ridiculous,” one user wrote on X.

“I work a 9-to-5 and come home just to see PlayStation servers are down on a Friday,” another user posted.

“PlayStation Network is down… guess I finally have time to get to know my wife of five years,” one gamer joked.

Sony has acknowledged the outage on its support page, assuring players that it is actively working on a resolution. However, no estimated timeline for restoration has been provided, leaving gamers anxiously awaiting an update.
