Islamabad: At least 10 people lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries in a tragic accident involving a 22-wheeler truck on the Indus Highway in Karachi on Saturday.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the accident occurred at Ambiri Kalma Chowk when the brakes of the massive truck failed. The driver, unable to regain control, struck multiple vehicles in a desperate attempt to stop the truck.

The situation worsened when the out-of-control truck toppled over, crushing a passenger coach beneath it. Rescue 1122 personnel reported that several people were crushed under the wheels of the truck.

Emergency responders are still working to retrieve passengers trapped inside the coach. The rescue staff fear the death toll may rise as efforts continue to recover victims from the wreckage.
