WhatsApp is set to introduce a new feature that will allow users to attach images to poll options within channels, with the update expected to roll out soon. According to a report from WABetaInfo, this functionality will help improve clarity by providing visual context when textual descriptions fall short.

Channel administrators will be able to associate a photo with each poll option, which will be especially useful for channels focused on areas like design, travel, or cuisine, where images can enhance understanding and assist users in making decisions.

The Meta-owned platform aims to boost user engagement by incorporating visuals alongside poll options. The latest beta version for Android (2.25.1.17) on the Google Play Store has revealed the feature, which ensures that if one poll option includes a photo, all options must feature images for consistency.

Initially, the feature will be limited to channels, providing WhatsApp with an opportunity to refine the tool before considering its expansion to group chats and private conversations in the future. Channels, which are geared toward larger audiences and higher engagement, are an ideal platform for testing the new functionality.
