Severe Cold Grips Balochistan as Temperatures Plummet

Islamabad: Most districts of Balochistan are experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures dropping significantly, according to the Met Department.

Quetta and Ziarat recorded freezing temperatures of minus 6 degrees Celsius, while weather officials predicted that cold and dry conditions would persist across the province over the next 24 hours.

Cloudy weather in northern mountainous areas further intensified the chilly conditions.

Weather Update Across Pakistan

In other parts of the country, Islamabad, Murree, and Galiyat witnessed extremely cold and dry weather earlier in the morning.

Dense fog and smog blanketed central and southern Punjab as well as upper Sindh, with foggy conditions forecasted for most districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Leh recorded the country’s lowest temperature at minus 13 degrees Celsius, followed by Skardu at minus 11 degrees and Gilgit at minus 7 degrees.

Islamabad and Peshawar recorded a minimum of 1 degree, Lahore 6 degrees, and Karachi remained relatively warmer at 12 degrees Celsius.

Officials warned that cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sargodha in Punjab would continue to face dense fog and smog.

Similarly, misty or foggy conditions are expected in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Kohat in KP, as well as Sukkur, Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Khairpur in Sindh.
