Five Dead, Two Critical After Boiler Explosion in Sheikhupura

Islamabad: A tragic boiler explosion at a tyre oil extraction factory on Muridke Road in Sheikhupura has claimed five lives, leaving two others critically injured, private media reported on Friday morning.
One laborer, Sajjad Hussain, 30, died instantly, while Shahid Butt, Syed Asad Abbas, Syed Tajumal Hussain, and Arshad Shabbir succumbed to severe burn injuries at Mayo Hospital.
Among the injured are Arshad Ali, 22, Nazim Shah, 68, Ali Hasan, 21, Asad Ali, 21, Tajamal Ali, 40, Abdul Razzaq, 35, and Shahid Ali, 40, who were given first aid before being transported to the hospital by Rescue 1122.
Families of the victims have staged protests, demanding justice and action against the factory owner, accusing the police of refusing to register a First Information Report (FIR). Protesters have also called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to intervene.
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Tajumal Hussain revealed that an emergency call was received from the factory in Dilla Wagah on Narowal-Muridke Road following the powerful explosion. Rescuers handed over the deceased’s body to the police and urged authorities to ensure workplace safety to prevent future tragedies.
