Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has approved the revised PC-I of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, with the estimated cost now standing at Rs 32.9 billion, up from the previous estimate of Rs 26.9 billion.

This approval was granted during a meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP), marking a significant milestone in the execution of the project.

The Ring Road project, spanning 38.3 kilometers, will feature five interchanges located at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thallian. Once completed, the road is expected to ease the growing traffic congestion in Rawalpindi, significantly enhancing the city’s transportation infrastructure.

Kinza Murtaza emphasized that the revised plan will meet the region’s expanding transportation needs, improve mobility, and address traffic issues. She also highlighted that the girder work on the flyovers is a key step toward the completion of this essential project.

The Ring Road is a crucial component of Rawalpindi’s broader infrastructure modernization efforts. It is anticipated that the project will significantly benefit local residents, commuters, and contribute to the overall development of the region.
