Mirpur : Heavy snowfall blanketed the upper reaches of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Saturday, including Gurez, Tangdar, and Gulmarg, while the plains experienced steady rainfall.
The snowfall caused road closures in hilly areas, including Gurez and Karnah. Authorities have initiated snow clearance operations to restore connectivity, according to reports from across the Line of Control.
Traffic police issued advisories permitting only 4X4 vehicles or those equipped with anti-skid chains on specific routes, such as Tangmarg-Gulmarg, Zojila Pass, and Mughal Road.
The weather is expected to remain dry between November 17 and 23, with light rain or snow forecasted for November 24. Travelers have been urged to plan their journeys carefully due to possible disruptions over key passes in the region.
