Lahore: Punjab’s Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has declared smog a national disaster, highlighting its severe impact across the province. Addressing a press conference, she outlined measures under a 10-year anti-smog plan initiated earlier this year.
Key initiatives include providing subsidized super seeders to farmers, mass transit programs, industrial emission controls, and a health emergency in smog-hit areas. Schools and offices will shift to remote operations, while construction activities and public gatherings face restrictions in Lahore and Multan.
Appealing for public cooperation, Aurangzeb emphasized that addressing smog is a collective responsibility transcending political rivalries.
