Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for a two-state solution as the key to achieving peace in the Middle East.
Speaking at a press conference following the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Prince Faisal underscored Arab and Islamic nations’ unified commitment to de-escalation and protection of Palestinian rights.
Prince Faisal noted that the Riyadh summit represented a collaborative effort to address escalating regional tensions, particularly concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Key points of discussion included reducing hostilities, addressing humanitarian aid restrictions, and reinforcing the two-state solution as the basis for sustainable regional stability.
He highlighted the importance of Arab and Islamic solidarity and called for stronger ties with the global community to resolve the crisis.
Additionally, Prince Faisal urged the international community to pressure Israel to halt aggressive actions, such as the withholding of Palestinian tax revenues, which he argued severely hampers the Palestinian Authority’s governance capabilities and exacerbates conditions in Palestinian territories.
Reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment, Prince Faisal expressed solidarity with Palestine and praised the resilience of the Palestinian Authority amid mounting challenges in the West Bank and Gaza.
He pledged continued support from Arab and Islamic nations in pursuit of a lasting resolution to the conflict, grounded in a two-state framework.
