Lahore: In a move to address rising air pollution levels, the Director General of Environment, Imran Hameed Sheikh, has instructed all districts in Punjab to install air purifiers in commercial areas, with a focus on major divisions such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala.
A notification issued on Sunday outlines the requirement for all shopping malls across the province to install air purifiers.
Commercial plazas in these regions are also expected to comply with the directive. The guidelines emphasize the need for an adequate number of air purifiers to ensure effective air quality control in these high-traffic public spaces.
This initiative aims to improve air quality in urban centers, where pollution levels have reached alarming levels, and to reduce the health risks posed to the public by poor air quality.
