Hindu Community Celebrates Diwali with Festivities Across Sindh

Sukkur: Hindu-majority areas in northern Sindh resounded with firecrackers on Wednesday night as community members began three days of Diwali celebrations.

Families lit earthen lamps and candles at homes and temples, decorated streets with colorful buntings, and exchanged greetings to mark the festival of lights. Sweets were shared among relatives and friends in celebration.

On Thursday, devotees visited temples to pray for the well-being, happiness, and prosperity of their community. Temples in Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and other towns in the region were packed with worshippers performing religious rituals to mark the occasion.

Bilawal Extends Diwali Greetings

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari extended Diwali greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and worldwide.

Emphasizing Diwali’s message of unity, peace, and goodwill, he recognized the valuable contributions of Hindu and Scheduled Caste communities to Pakistan’s cultural heritage.

“Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and reflects a commitment to harmony among all communities,” he stated.

Bilawal reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to upholding the rights of religious minorities, ensuring their freedom to celebrate traditions in a spirit of mutual respect and inclusivity.
