Indian Flight Faces Bomb Scare, Pakistan Assists
News Desk
Ahmedabad: An Indian flight en route from Ahmedabad to London faced an alleged bomb threat on Thursday, prompting swift safety measures by air traffic controllers in both India and Pakistan.
After receiving the bomb alert, Indian air traffic control quickly coordinated with their counterparts in Pakistan’s Karachi region, who immediately provided assistance.
Pakistan’s air traffic controllers safely guided the Indian aircraft through their airspace via voice communication, enabling the plane to continue its journey into Afghanistan’s airspace without incident.
Indian media reports revealed that over 90 fake bomb threats have targeted multiple Indian airlines this week, causing panic among passengers and global flight disruptions. At least 30 hoax threats were made on Saturday, followed by 20 more on Sunday.
IndiGo airline confirmed that six of its flights, including four international routes to Saudi Arabia and Turkey, were affected.
The persistent threats have led to aircraft being diverted to locations such as Canada and Germany, while fighter jets were scrambled to escort planes in British and Singaporean airspace, amplifying fears and resulting in significant delays worldwide.
