Pakistan to Announce White-Ball Squads for Australia Next Week
News Desk
Karachi: Pakistan is expected to reveal its squads for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia next week, with sources suggesting that Mohammad Rizwan may be appointed as captain.
The selection committee favors Rizwan for the leadership role, but the final decision will be made by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, following discussions with selectors and officials.
Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, who last featured in an ODI in 2023, is anticipated to make a comeback after impressing selectors with notable performances in the recent Champions Cup and President’s Cup.
Additionally, all-rounder Aamir Jamal and wicketkeeper-batsman Haseebullah are also being considered for the squad.
The ODI series will kick off with the second match on November 8 at Adelaide Oval, followed by the third match on November 10 at Perth Stadium.
After the ODIs, Pakistan will compete against Australia in three T20 matches from November 14 to 18, starting with the first T20 at The Gabba in Brisbane on November 14, the second at SCG in Sydney on November 16, and concluding with the third match at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on November 18.
Earlier this week, Cricket Australia announced its 14-member squad for the ODI series, set to begin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 4. With Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head unavailable due to paternity leave, Pat Cummins returns as captain, supported by Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matt Short as openers. The Australian squad includes:
