News Desk
Islamabad: In a significant leap forward for Pakistan’s space technology, the country’s first multi-mission satellite, Paksat-MM1, is now fully operational.
The satellite was launched under the auspices of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), according to a report by a private news channel on Thursday.
The satellite is expected to revolutionize Pakistan’s communication infrastructure, providing a much-needed boost to the IT sector. It will also enhance internet connectivity in remote areas, which have long struggled with limited access.
Pakistan’s standing on the United Nations e-Governance Development Index has improved, climbing 14 spots to 136th in 2023, compared to 150th in 2022.
Paksat-MM1 is set to offer improved broadcasting services, community internet access, and tele-education opportunities, which are projected to benefit local industries and the broader economy.
