Why Are Four Key Players Released from Pakistan Squad?
News Desk
Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday that four key players, including former captain Babar Azam, have been released from the squad to rest and recharge for upcoming international matches.
According to a PCB spokesperson, Babar Azam is considered the best batsman of his generation, and the board wants him mentally refreshed for future challenges.
The decision to rest Babar, along with Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, was taken in light of the demanding international schedule for 2024-2025 and the team’s need to bounce back in the ongoing series against England.
In their place, young talents and domestic performers, including Haseebullah, Mehran, Kamran Ghulam, Muhammad Ali, Noman, Sajid, and Zahid, have been given an opportunity to showcase their skills in the remaining two Tests. The PCB emphasized its focus on developing the next generation of Test players through this series.
