Cyclone Warning: Strong Winds Approaching Pakistan’s Coastal Areas

Islamabad: Indian meteorologist Mahesh Palawat has warned that wind speeds along Pakistan’s coastal belt may increase starting from October 14 or 15 due to low pressure in the Arabian Sea, which could intensify further.

The potential cyclone is likely to move toward Oman and Yemen, with no significant activity expected along the Sindh coastline.

Palawat also noted that while the cyclone may not directly impact the coast of Sindh, some tidal inundation could occur between October 14 and 15.

If the system strengthens into a hurricane, it will be named ‘DANA,’ a name suggested by Qatar.

Meanwhile, Karachi will continue to experience hot and dry weather over the next 24 hours.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported that the city recorded a minimum temperature of 24.4°C, with a maximum expected to reach between 36°C and 38°C. The humidity level in the city currently stands at 70 percent.
Authorities are advised to monitor the situation as it develops.
