Lahore: The “Maryam Ki Dastak” initiative, launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and implemented by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), is revolutionizing public service delivery in the province while generating employment opportunities for aspiring Dastak facilitators.

Since its launch on June 4, 2024, the “Dastak Doorstep Services” app has been downloaded by over 150,000 citizens, enabling them to access essential documents from the comfort of their homes. Services can be requested either through the app or via the 1202 helpline.

Trained Dastak Facilitators are dispatched to deliver services directly at citizens’ doorsteps, earning income through a commission-based model.

The program has swiftly expanded its offerings from 10 essential public services in Lahore to over 60 services across 11 districts within just three months.

The app now includes services related to Driving Licences, the Police Department, the Excise and Taxation Department, Local Government, the Board of Revenue, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Social Welfare Department, and the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, among others.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized, “The ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ initiative is setting new benchmarks for public service delivery in Punjab, ensuring convenience, transparency, affordability, and broad access.”

The initiative also allows citizens to register as facilitators through the Dastak Facilitator App, further enhancing employment opportunities in the region.
