Beirut: Hezbollah announced that it targeted Israeli troops in two border villages in southern Lebanon on Monday, amidst heightened tensions and military activity in the region.

The Israeli army, in response, has deployed an additional division to enhance its operations in Lebanon.

According to a statement from Hezbollah, its fighters launched a “rocket salvo” at a gathering of Israeli forces in the village of Maroun al-Ras.

This incident follows a series of reported clashes in the area, which have intensified in recent days after Israel initiated “targeted” ground raids in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah further claimed to have bombed an assembly of Israeli forces in the neighboring village of Blida using a combination of rockets and artillery shells.

The group also reported conducting several attacks on northern Israel, including a significant rocket assault near the city of Haifa and strikes on various Israeli military positions.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military actions along the Lebanon-Israel border, raising concerns about the potential for further escalation in the region.
