DI Khan: A grand tribal jirga held in Wana has called on the provincial government to ensure the provision of basic facilities in South Waziristan.

The jirga, attended by tribal elders, scholars, and youth, highlighted the dire need for functional health and education services in the area.

The meeting was led by Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ajab Gul Wazir and Deputy Commissioner of Lower South Waziristan, Muhammad Nasir Khan.

Tribal elders raised concerns about the lack of basic facilities and non-functional schools and health dispensaries.

They urged the government to prioritize making the existing infrastructure operational rather than constructing new buildings.

Security concerns were also voiced, with the elders stressing that peace is essential for development. They called on the government to take immediate action to improve the security situation.

The participants emphasized the need for the rehabilitation of key institutions, including Agri Park Wana, Sheikh Fatima Hospital, and the District Headquarters Hospital Wana.

They also requested improvements in agriculture, forestry, and internet services to support local development.

MPA Ajab Gul Wazir and Deputy Commissioner Nasir Khan assured the jirga that some issues would be resolved immediately, while others would be communicated to the provincial government for further action.
