Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has launched a citywide crackdown on dengue breeding sites, targeting business centers, industries, and construction sites. Sixteen individuals have been arrested for violating anti-dengue protocols, according to an ICT administration spokesperson.

The administration has issued warnings to business bodies, including the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), urging strict implementation of anti-dengue measures.

The administration emphasized eliminating stagnant water, a key breeding ground for dengue larvae, and advised workers to wear protective clothing and use mosquito repellents.

Raids have been conducted across Islamabad, with assistant commissioners inspecting known hotspots. Six arrests were made in Sector I-11, four in Nillore, five in the Industrial Area I-9, and one in Sector G-8. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has ordered intensified operations to prevent further breaches of anti-dengue SOPs.
