Islamabad: The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE), an attached department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HD), has blacklisted around 40 technical trade centers across the country due to fraud complaints, according to an official source.

The department’s primary role is to regulate and promote emigration under the Emigration Ordinance of 1979 and safeguard the interests and welfare of emigrants. It also advises the Federal Government on emigration policies and oversees Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs).

BEOE has advised job seekers to verify Overseas Employment Promoters through official channels to avoid fraud, as only 2,577 OEP licenses are valid out of 5,048, with many having been canceled, expired, or surrendered.

The department offers pre-departure briefings to emigrants and ensures mandatory insurance coverage for Pakistani workers abroad.
