Conference On Endangered Languages Set For Sept 25

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will host the 28th International Conference on the Federation of Endangered Languages from September 25-27.
According to AIOU, the event will feature participation from experts representing 22 countries, including 15 foreign delegates. A total of 42 national and international scholars will present their research papers during the conference.
The Department of English at AIOU is organising this conference in collaboration with the Forum for Language Initiatives (FLI). AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasir Mahmood will host the event.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui will be the chief guest at the inaugural session, while the Education and Professional Training Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed will be the special guests at the closing ceremony.
A preparatory meeting was held yesterday with faculty members and university officials to ensure all arrangements are in place for the successful execution of the conference.
