BVH Medical Superintendent Dr Aamir Bukhari informed the media on Sunday that Zafar Iqbal, a dairy farm worker and resident of Chak 130-R, Khanewal, was admitted to the hospital with a high fever. Blood samples were taken and sent for laboratory analysis, which confirmed the presence of the Congo virus.

The patient has been moved to the hospital’s isolation ward, where a dedicated team of doctors and paramedics is providing specialized medical care.

Earlier, three suspected Congovirus patients were treated and discharged from the hospital. Dr Bukhari assured that BVH is fully equipped with the necessary facilities to treat such patients.
