President, PM Vow to Eliminate Terrorism After Panjgur Police Attack

Peshawar: At least 10 individuals, including six police officials, were injured when their vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled explosive device in South Waziristan’s Panjgur area.
Rescue 1122 officials reported on Monday that the police officials were en route to the Kari Kot area in a private vehicle when a roadside remote-controlled device detonated with a loud bang.
The powerful blast injured six police officials, including Constables Aurangzeb, Muhammad Tahir, Kamran, Noor Salam, and Attaullah, along with passersby Sayyed Akhtar, Amanullah, Abid, Habib Jan, and Noor Khatim.
Following the blast, rescue teams and police forces arrived at the scene to collect evidence for further investigation. The injured were given first aid by rescue workers and later shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital. The police cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday strongly condemned the attack on a police mobile van in Panjgur, which resulted in the death of Sub-inspector Shakeel Ahmed.
In a press release from the President House, President Zardari paid tribute to the martyred sub-inspector, offering prayers for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear their loss. He also praised Sub-inspector Shakeel for his sacrifice and dedication to duty.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the incident, expressing deep grief over the martyrdom of Sub-inspector Shakeel Ahmed, according to a statement from the PM Office. He prayed for the departed soul and for strength for the family.
“The entire nation stands with the officers sacrificing their lives in the fight against terrorism. This war will continue until this scourge is eradicated completely,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed.
