SSP Injured in Clashes as PTI Rally Violates Designated Routes
News Desk
Islamabad: Several police officers, including Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Safe City Islamabad, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, were injured during clashes with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, the injuries were caused by stone pelting from PTI protesters and the resulting violent commotion. The injured officers were transported to hospitals for treatment.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Peaceful Assembly Law is currently in effect in Islamabad, requiring all public gatherings to comply with regulations to prevent disruptions and ensure public safety.
He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those violating designated routes, with immediate arrests of offenders. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration had pre-assigned specific routes for participation in the rally, and any travel on foot, motorcycle, or vehicle outside these routes is prohibited by law.
The public is urged to cooperate with law enforcement to maintain order, the spokesperson added.
