Islamabad: A book titled “Do Muslims Scare You?”, a comprehensive guide for journalists on Islamophobia, was launched in Islamabad on Thursday.
Authored by Osama bin Javed, the event was organized by the National University of Modern Languages (NUML).
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, spoke at the event, sharing his perspective on Islamophobia and its adverse impact on global peace and harmony.
He appreciated the efforts of the Al-Jazeera Media Initiative in promoting responsible media practices and expressed interest in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Al-Jazeera Media Institute. This collaboration aims to enhance media education and research initiatives in Islamabad, benefiting NUML’s Mass Communication students.
During the event, author Osama bin Javed presented his book to Federal Minister Atta Tarar, accompanied by Al-Jazeera’s Media Initiative Manager Montaser Marai and Al-Jazeera’s Senior Producer, Hameed Ullah Khan.
The book launch marked an important step toward promoting academic excellence, social responsibility, and media literacy in Pakistan. Federal Minister Atta Tarar’s interest in collaborating with Al-Jazeera highlights the Pakistan government’s commitment to countering Islamophobia through media literacy and education.
The ceremony was also attended by the Rector of NUML and faculty members, who praised the author’s efforts in producing this timely and relevant publication.
