Monsoon Rains Impacting Cotton Crop
News Desk
Sargodha: Recent monsoon rains have severely affected cotton crops in the Sargodha region. Muhammad Shahid Hussain, Director of the Agriculture Department for Sargodha, has urged cotton growers to take special measures to care for their crops during the rains.
Hussain explained that excessive rainfall negatively impacts the crop. “If rainwater remains in the cotton fields for more than 24 hours, it causes significant damage,” he said.
To mitigate the effects, he advised applying a solution of 20 percent urea two to three days after the rain and using one bag of urea per acre of land.
Growers should adjust their watering schedules based on weather predictions and contact the Agriculture Department for any queries or concerns.
