PSX Drops 84 Points Amid Lower Trading Volume

Islamabad: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a downturn on Tuesday, with the 100-Index shedding 84.82 points, reflecting a 0.11 per cent decrease, and closing at 77,745.52 points, down from the previous day’s 77,830.34 points.

The trading volume also saw a significant drop, with 380.7 million shares exchanged compared to 471.7 million shares on the prior trading day. The total value of traded shares fell to Rs 11.237 billion from Rs 16.915 billion.

Out of 446 companies that participated in the trading, 196 recorded gains, 183 experienced losses, and 67 remained unchanged.

The top three trading companies were Kohinoor Spinning, which traded 101.9 million shares at Rs 10.21 per share; Yousuf Weaving, which traded 35.8 million shares at Rs 6.46 per share; and Flying Cement, which traded 17.5 million shares at Rs 11.58 per share.

PIA Holding Company Limited saw the most significant increase, with its share price rising by Rs 81.10 to close at Rs 892.10. Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited followed with a Rs 76.40 increase, closing at Rs 17,600.00 per share.

On the downside, Mari Petroleum Company Limited experienced the largest decline, with its share price falling by Rs 25.64 to close at Rs 3,262.64, followed by Atlas Honda Limited, which saw a Rs 19.82 decrease, closing at Rs 606.21.
