News Desk

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecasted more rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls in Balochistan from August 20 to 22, particularly in the northeastern districts.

The affected areas include Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Pishin, Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, and parts of eastern Balochistan such as Khuzdar, Dadu, Lasbela, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Washuk, Kachhi, and Jafarabad.

The NDMA warned that the rains could trigger flash floods in streams, particularly in Khuzdar, Dadu, Lasbela, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Washuk, Musakhel, Duki, Barkhan, Sibi, and Kohlu. River bridge abutments could also be damaged due to increased water flows.

Local authorities and rescue services have been instructed to remain on high alert, with the NDMA recommending regular monitoring of hydraulic and flood protection structures. The public is advised to stay vigilant, follow local authorities’ guidance, and download the ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert’ app for timely updates.
