Shaheens Set to Face Bangladesh ‘A’ After Squad Overhaul

Islamabad: The Pakistan Shaheens cricket team is set to face Bangladesh ‘A’ in the second four-day match on Tuesday at Islamabad Club. The first match ended in a draw.

Both teams have made significant changes to their squads following the first game. Shaheens have introduced eight new players, while Bangladesh ‘A’ has included six new faces after their Test squad members departed for national duties.

Uncapped top-order batter Kamran Ghulam, who was released from the Pakistan Test squad, along with Abrar Ahmed, will lead the Shaheens in the second match.

Shaheens Squad Changes:

Replacements: Abrar Ahmed, Ali Zaryab, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Awais Anwar, Niaz Khan, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir, and Sharoon Siraj.

Exits: Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rameez Jnr, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Saud Shakeel.

Bangladesh ‘A’ Squad Changes:

Replacements: Mohammad Naim, Mohammad Saifuddin, Saif Hassan, Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, and Zakir Ali.

Exits: Hasan Mahmud, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Nayeem Hasan, and Zakir Hasan.

Shaheens Captain Kamran Ghulam said, “It’s a great opportunity for me to lead the Pakistan Shaheens in the second four-day match. I’m excited about this role and eager to contribute through my leadership and batting. We aim to win this match and secure the series, which will be a significant boost for our players ahead of a busy red-ball season. We are familiar with the conditions at the Islamabad Club and hope to use our learnings from the first match effectively. The new players are promising and should contribute to our success in the second game.”

Bangladesh ‘A’ Captain Anamul Haque commented, “After making a few squad changes, we are focused on giving our best in the second match. The experience from the first game will be valuable. Despite the changes and the absence of some experienced players, I have confidence in our young talent. The second match will be fiercely contested, and we are ready to challenge the opposition and showcase our skills.”
