RDA To Take Action Against 2 Illegal Housing Schemes

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has lodged First Information Reports (FIRs) against two illegal housing schemes Mega City/Iqbal City and New Metro City for illegally advertising their projects without proper authorisation.
According to RDA Spokesman, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate filed FIRs against individuals associated with these schemes, including Sheikh Tayyeb Zahid, Mubashir Hayyat, Qaiser Mahmood, Raja Zahid Hussain, Raja Daniyal, Bilal Bashir, Ijaz Ahmed, and Syed Jalil ur Rehman. The illegal advertisements were conducted through M/s. GK Mega City Developers Pvt Ltd. for Mega City/Iqbal City and M/s. BSM Developers Pvt Ltd. for New Metro City in Mouza Massa Kassowal at GT Road and Mouza Bhai Khan Matyal, Tehsil Gujar Khan, District Rawalpindi.
Prior to FIRs, the RDA had issued notices to the owners of the illegal housing schemes. The authority warned that without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA, all sorts of advertisement, marketing, and development activities for housing schemes, apartment projects, and commercial buildings are illegal within the controlled area of the RDA. Failure to comply would result in strict legal action.
RDA Spokesman emphasised that the public should refrain from investing in unauthorised housing schemes. Furthermore, the RDA has communicated with several authorities, including the Governor State Bank of Pakistan, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi, FIA Cyber Crime Islamabad, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Islamabad, SNGPL Islamabad, District Collector Rawalpindi, District Council Rawalpindi, PEMRA Islamabad, and Commissioner Islamabad, regarding the illegal advertisements of private housing schemes on social media.
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza has directed the MP&TE Directorate to take stringent measures against unauthorised housing schemes, constructions, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments without any discrimination.
