Court Grants Bail To PTI’s Social Media Coordinator

Islamabad: A local court granted post-arrest bail to PTI’s International Social Media Coordinator Ahmed Waqas Janjua in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

The court approved Janjua’s bail against surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 and ordered his release.
Janjua faced allegations of spreading information related to terrorism on social media and possessing explosive material. He was presented before Duty Magistrate Abbas Shah.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered a case against him under PECA for anti-state propaganda, while the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police registered First Information Reports (FIRs) regarding the recovery of explosive material.
