Virtual Women Police Station Receives 60,000 Complaints

Lahore: A performance report on the Virtual Women Police Station reveals that more than 60,000 complaints are received from women across Punjab, including Lahore.
The Safe City Authority released this report on the completion of its first 100 days.
Investigations are ongoing in 4,143 cases, and instructions have been issued to expedite 1,137 of these cases. Based on the complaints lodged by women, 4,083 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered. Of these, 935 FIRs pertain to domestic disputes, 309 to harassment, 460 to sexual assault, 157 to attempted murder, and 9 to acid attacks. Additionally, 2,292 FIRs were registered for various reasons.
The report highlights that 51,768 cases have been resolved through reconciliation between parties or other means.
Safe City Authority Spokesperson emphasised that women are receiving daily guidance from the Virtual Women Police Station at all stages, from FIR registration to investigation and trial. Women can contact the Station at any time through the 15 helpline, the Women Safety App’s live chat feature, or the video call feature. Complaints can be filed confidentially and securely without disclosing the complainant’s name and address, Spokesman added.
