Rupee Declines, British Pound & Gulf Currencies Strengthen

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee value fell by 15 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Tuesday, closing at Rs 278.65 compared to the closing of Rs 278.50 on previous day.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs 278.5 and Rs 280.06, respectively.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the price of the Euro decreased by 35 paisa, closing at Rs 301.57 against the last day’s closing of Rs 301.92,
The Japanese yen lost 2 paisa, closing at Rs 1.79. In contrast, an increase of Rs 1.22 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British pound, which traded at Rs 358.17 compared to the last day’s closing of Rs 356.95.
The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal increased by 4 paisa each, closing at Rs 75.86 and Rs 74.27, respectively.
