Evening Programs Introduced In 50 Islamabad Model Schools

Islamabad: In a major development for Islamabad’s education sector, 50 model schools are introducing evening shift programs to address diverse student needs.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has unveiled several new initiatives and upgrades for Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Schools and Colleges for the upcoming academic session.

Among the new offerings are innovative academic programs designed to enhance student learning and well-being. Primary students will have access to coding and AI classes, aimed at equipping them with future-ready skills.

High school students will benefit from new Entrepreneurship and STEM programs, designed to foster creativity and innovation.

Additionally, a character-building curriculum will focus on values and personality development, while Financial Literacy will be integrated into the curriculum to provide essential life skills.

Infrastructure upgrades include the expansion of smart classrooms in both urban and rural schools, the establishment of Health Infirmaries in 125 schools to ensure student wellness, and the installation of 400 wash stations to improve hygiene.

As many as 75 schools have been renovated to feature colorful environments, and 100 new early childhood education centers have been set up.

Student welfare initiatives include a solid hot meals program to combat malnutrition among primary students and the provision of free sports uniforms to encourage participation in sports. Additionally, 20 Pink Buses have been allocated to facilitate travel for female students and teachers from rural to urban areas.

In terms of science and technology enhancements, 100 schools will receive high-tech telescopes to ignite interest in astronomy and science. A six-month foreign language course has been introduced for 1,500 students in federal schools. AI-based formative assessments will now provide personalized feedback to improve student outcomes, and Grade 5 examinations have been replaced with formative assessments to reduce stress and promote learning.
