Sindh Rescue 1122 Handles 5000 Calls Daily

Karachi: Sindh Emergency Rescue Services (SERS) Rescue 1122 handles approximately 5000 calls daily for medical emergencies and rescue operations.
This was revealed at the ‘Safe Karachi Conference: Strengthening Urban Resilience’, organised by K-Electric in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration.
SERS CEO Brigadier (Retd) Tariq Lakhair reported that the service, which began in 2021, now operates in 30 districts and 1,280 locations. Of the daily calls, 99 per cent are medical-related and half are for rescue services.
The conference also introduced the Alert App, designed to report safety hazards and encroachments. Speakers discussed urban resilience, disaster preparedness and safety challenges in Karachi.
