Scattered Rains Expected in Lahore in Next 24 Hours

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered rains across Lahore over the next 24 hours.
In preparation, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Ghafran Ahmed has directed the deployment of heavy machinery to areas likely to be affected by the rainfall and has instructed field teams to be ready for rainwater drainage operations.
Ahmed also inspected various city areas and WASA disposal stations.
The PMD has issued a warning about potential heavy rains that could lead to flash flooding in southern and eastern Balochistan’s nullahs and streams.
Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are advancing into southern parts of the country, and a westerly wave is affecting the upper regions.
While much of the country is expected to experience hot and very humid conditions, rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are anticipated in Kashmir, northeastern and southern Punjab, and northeastern Balochistan during the evening and night.
Saturday’s highest temperatures were recorded at Jacobabad and Turbat at 46°C. In Lahore, the temperature reached 38.5°C with a minimum of 28.6°C.
