Rain Likely at Isolated Places: PMD

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country for the next 24 hours. However, there is a possibility of windstorms, thunderstorms, and rain occurring at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, and northeast Balochistan.
According to the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over the majority of the country. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is expected to affect the upper parts of Pakistan.
In the last 24 hours, hot and dry weather was observed over most areas. However, there were instances of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms at isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Barkhan. Recorded rainfall during this period includes:
Gilgit Baltistan: Bagrote 10mm, Bunji 04mm, Gupis 02mm
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Balakot 05mm, Dir (upper) 01mm
Balochistan: Barkhan 03mm
The highest maximum temperatures recorded were exceptionally high:
Turbat: 49°C
Sibbi, Dadu, Chhor, Shaheed Benazirabad: 47°C
Sakrand, Bhakkar, Padidan: 46°C
