Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message on International Father’s Day, emphasized the invaluable role of fathers in raising and guiding their children.

She likened a father to a shady tree whose shade becomes denser for his children in the scorching sun. She highlighted that Father’s Day is an opportunity to recognize the often-overlooked sacrifices fathers make.

CM Maryam Nawaz urged the youth to appreciate the sacrifices fathers make for their better future. She stressed the importance of understanding the compassionate role fathers play in the upbringing and training of their children, noting that a kind father is irreplaceable.

She dedicated all her success to her father, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, whom she regards as her inspiration in every difficulty.

Expressing her pride and gratitude, she said, “I am lucky to have a father like Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and proud to be his daughter. Every day, I leave the house with my father’s prayers, and on my return, I greet him first.”

Quoting a Quranic verse about parents, she said: “Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that yet be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in the life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor.”

Reflecting on her father’s love, she added, “He keeps me dearer than his soul. This is true; my father is no less kind than my mother.”
