Mirpur: The meteorological office in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir has forecasted a new heatwave beginning on June 10, affecting areas on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) in the Himalayan region, as per a report received from across the LoC.

According to the report, a meteorological official mentioned the likelihood of partly to mostly cloudy weather with the chance of light rain and thunder in scattered areas late on Saturday.

From June 9 to 17, generally dry weather is expected, with isolated instances of light rain or thunder possible.

This indicates a probable dry spell on June 14 and coincides with the Eid-ul-Azha festival starting on June 17.

Farmers are advised to resume farming activities, including spraying and fertilizer application, from June 9 onwards.

Additionally, the meteorological department has issued a warning about a fresh heatwave starting on June 10.
