Islamabad: In an electrifying start to the ICC T20 World Cup, the United States secured a resounding victory over Canada, triumphing by 7 wickets in a thrilling encounter at Dallas, USA.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Canada set a challenging target of 195 runs, posting a commendable total of 194/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Navneet Dhaliwal led the charge with a solid knock of 61, ably supported by Nicholas Curtin’s 51 and contributions from Aaron Johnson (23) and Shreyas Mowa (32 off 16 balls), which propelled Canada to a competitive total.
In response, the USA faced an early setback with the loss of their first wicket for zero runs. However, they quickly regained their composure, displaying a determined batting performance to chase down the target with ease.
Andres Goss played a crucial innings, scoring 65 runs, while Erin Jones remained unbeaten with an impressive 94 runs to guide the USA to victory in just 17.4 overs.
