CDA to Establish Water and Sanitation Agency

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is moving forward with plans to establish the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Islamabad, aiming to revamp the existing infrastructure.

This initiative is geared towards significantly enhancing water supply, sewage, and drainage facilities throughout the federal capital. Preliminary discussions are underway to kickstart the project as soon as possible.

The project encompasses various aspects, including the rehabilitation and expansion of current systems, construction and improvement of water treatment plants to boost sewage treatment capacity, and the enhancement of drainage systems.

Technical expertise and support for the endeavor will be provided by AFD, a prominent French agency specializing in development.

According to Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the WASA Islamabad project demonstrates the CDA’s dedication to providing top-notch amenities to the citizens.

He expressed confidence that this initiative will effectively tackle current challenges and lead to a more resilient and sustainable future for Islamabad.
