News Desk
Islamabad: The federal government has removed Director General (DG) Qaiser Alam from the Federal Education Board for Intermediate and Secondary Education.
Sources reveal that the Federal Cabinet greenlit the transfer of Qaiser Alam’s services to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Secretariat Group officer Syed Junaid Akhlaq, holding the rank of Grade 21, steps in as the new DG of the Federal Education Board.
Earlier, Qaiser Alam, a Grade 20 DG Protocol officer in the KP government, had been deputed as DG of the Federal Board for three years in September 2020 during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regime.
The caretaker government then extended his tenure for another three years until September 2026. However, the federal cabinet has now revoked Qaiser Alam’s deputation and returned him to the KP government.
Taking his position is Syed Junaid Akhlaq, a Grade 21 officer from the Secretariat Group. He will serve as the new DG of the Federal Education Board for a three-month period.
Currently, Syed Junaid Akhlaq holds the role of Senior Joint Secretary in Federal Education and Professional Training.
