Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions. Dry weather with strong winds is anticipated in other parts of the country.
There is a possibility of isolated to heavy rainfall leading to flash floods in local streams and nullahs in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan, and Kashmir until April 29.
Heavy rainfall may trigger landslides in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, posing risks to vulnerable locations. The windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning could potentially impact human lives, crops, structures like electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels during this period.
As per the synoptic situation, a robust westerly wave has impacted the upper regions of the country and is expected to persist for the next 24 to 36 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, there have been instances of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
